Clara "Maxine" Lawson

Clara “Maxine” Lawson, formerly of Liberty, passed with her family by her side on March 15,2024, after a short illness.

Maxine was born on July 24,1936 to Tracy and Eva Mase. Her husband, Jake, predeceased her in 2002 after 46 years of marriage.

She was also predeceased by her brothers Franklin, Leon, and Romaine and her two sisters Joyce Wheeland and Evelyn Jones.

She is survived by all her children; Melodee (Alan) Gregory of Liberty, Marilea (Richard) Bubb of Trout Run, James (Julia) Lawson of Pittsburgh, Jeanne (David) Alexander of Montoursville, and Johnnie (Bernadette) Lawson of Havertown. Her grandchildren include Tracy (Andrea) Gregory, Ryan (Liana) Bubb, Darin (Kirsten) Bubb, Thomas Lawson, Emilie (Brandon) Farina,  Alexander ( Alexis) Lawson, , Carter, Kyler, and Claire Alexander, Anthony, Patrick, and Sean Lawson.

Her great-grandchildren are Gabriella Gregory, Kamdyn, Everett, Ashton, Danika, Madelyn, Grayson Bubb,

and baby -to-be Farina. Maxine also had a very special niece, Deanna Knecht.

Maxine truly loved being Mom, Mimi, and Grandma to all her family, and enjoyed all their events. One of her favorite things to do was decorating for the seasons, both inside and out with beautiful flowers.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Liberty Lutheran Church, Liberty PA from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Services will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Carol Johnson officiating. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery.
